Mr. Muggeo has been a practicing trial lawyer and outside trial counsel to public and private corporations since his admission to the Massachusetts Bar in 1978. The founder and Senior Managing Partner of Muggeo & Associates, he is also a member of the Florida, Illinois, New York and New Hampshire bars. He has represented businesses throughout the United States and abroad, including lenders, contractors, insurers, high technology and media companies, municipal airport operators and professional athletes. In addition, Mr. Muggeo is affiliated with the New York City law firm of Winston Strawn, the Miami firm of Leesfield & Scolaro and the Chicago firm of Aronson & Aronson.

Mr. Muggeo has extensive trial experience and, is called upon regularly to represent businesses and individuals in complex multi-party matters in state and Federal Courts throughout the United States. These matters include patent and trademark litigation, complex business, real estate and securities matters, white collar crime and medical malpractice. He has also tried a variety of cases and appeared before federal and state administrative agencies; including the National Transportation Safety Board, National Labor Relations Board, Department of Housing and Urban Development, United States Patent and Trademark Office, Massachusetts Division of Securities, Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission, Massachusetts Civil Service Commission, Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents, and Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. In addition to his extensive experience dealing with all aspects of commercial litigation, he has also served as his clients’ primary legal advisor with respect to significant issues which businesses are confronted on a regular basis including; commercial leasing, complex equity financing, protection and management of intellectual property, employment practices, and Sarbanes-Oxley and its impact on corporate governance.

As Mr. Muggeo’s clients expanded their interests overseas, he was called upon to advise them with respect to various aspects of international law and finance and to provide cultural guidance. He has traveled extensively throughout Eastern and Western Europe and is well versed with the workings of international law, methods of international dispute resolution, and has thereby established international contacts of great value in dealing with the intricacies of multi-national transactions.  

In founding Muggeo & Associates, it was Mr. Muggeo’s desire to bring his large case and cross-border experience and perspective to serve the needs and values of local New England businesses, which values reflect his own, personal approach to life.  His firm has become a trusted resource for North Shore businesses, law firms and individuals for more than four decades.

Affiliations

In addition to being admitted to the various state bars, Mr. Muggeo has also been admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Colorado, the Southern District of New York, and the Unites States Court of Appeal for the First and Second Circuits. Mr. Muggeo is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association; Business Law and International section; American Bar Association; Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Lawyers and Pilots Bar Association, Aircraft and Pilots Association where he serves on the Legal Advisory Panel, Justinian Law Society, certified arbitrator/mediator for the American Arbitration Association and Essex County Superior Court, and Salem District Court Conciliator. He is also an active member of Essex County Bar Association, Salem Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, United States Russian Chamber of Commerce of New England, BISNIS, and Lawyer’s and Pilot’s Bar Association. Mr. Muggeo also served for many years on the Beverly Airport Commission, as chair of the legal affairs committee.

Academics

Mr. Muggeo received his law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, where he was the editor of Law Review and graduated with distinction. He received his undergraduate degree, Cum Laude, from the State University of New York at Binghamton, New York.  After graduation from law school, Mr. Muggeo served as a law clerk for the Honorable Alfred Kirkland, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Mr. Muggeo is a licensed private pilot and United States Coast Guard captain.

He is a member of the Bar of the District of Massachusetts and has been admitted to practice before various courts, including the U.S. District Court (District of Massachusetts) and the Bankruptcy Court.

After graduating from Suffolk University Law School in 2003, Adam J. Troupe went to work as an assistant district attorney for District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett in Essex County. There, he gained valuable courtroom experience, trying a wide range of criminal cases on a daily basis. He further helped supervise the prosecution of cases in Juvenile Court in Lawrence.

Following his time at the District Attorney’s Office, Attorney Troupe then went to work for Carney and Troupe in Boston. There, he began his career in representing injured workers and individuals in workers’ compensation, social security disability, and disability retirement cases. In 2009, Attorney Troupe and his father established Troupe Law Office, located in Peabody on the North Shore of Boston, focusing their practice in these same areas.

Since joining his father in practice, Attorney Adam Troupe has represented hundreds of injured individuals and their families in a wide variety of cases. Some common examples of our clients include nurses and health care professionals, constructions workers, electricians, plumbers and pipefitters, truck drivers, laborers, landscapers, etc.

Attorney Troupe received his undergraduate degree in Finance from Fairfield University in 2000, and his Law Degree from Suffolk University Law School in 2003. He is an active member in the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA), Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA), and MassCosh. He was recently selected as a member of the newly established Workers’ Compensation section of the Mass. Mr. White was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1988 and is an AV-rated trial attorney. He has been selected as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer since 2019. Mr. White has extensive trial experience in civil litigation both in Massachusetts and nationally. He is a former prosecutor for the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. Mr. White is also admitted to the Rhode Island bar and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. His practice is focused primarily in the Superior Court and Federal Court.

Mr. White co-founded Davis & White, LLC in 1995 and is the firm’s Managing Partner. He concentrates his practice in the areas of product liability, wrongful death, premise liability and general liability. Mr. White has substantial experience in cases involving both commercial and personal lines; and has extensive experience defending both casualty and property claims. He represents and has represented self-insured national retailers including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Inc., Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc., Dollar General, Kohl’s Department Stores, Inc. and J.C. Penney Corporation, Inc. in defense of civil litigation.

Mr. White’s practice over the past twenty-six years includes football helmet litigation involving catastrophic neck and brain injury on behalf of Schutt Sports; one of the two leading manufacturers of football helmets in the country. He has also served as lead counsel in muti-party wrongful death actions. Mr. White has been admitted as pro hac vice counsel in Alabama, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia; and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit.

 Mr. White has developed a broad base of quality experts from both universities and the private sector. His litigation strategy centers around the retention of medical and scientific experts who are highly respected in their fields, whose opinions are published and supported by their peers, and whose expertise best fits his clients’ particular needs

Over the years, Mr. White has been very involved in his community of North Andover. He and his wife Suzanne have four adult children.
